Seeking Extras for 8th Judicial Circuit Video

April 24, 2025

Looking for Lincoln is currently in the process of creating a documentary about Abraham Lincoln and his work and on the 8th Judicial Circuit.

Looking for Lincoln is looking for re-enactors to serve as extras in a documentary. We are filming at the Metamora Courthouse and Lincoln’s New Salem State Historic Site. Extras should provide their own period attire.

If you have questions or are interested in volunteering as an extra, please contact Heather Feezor at hfeezor@lookingforlincoln.org or (217) 492-8366 ext. 1. Please include your name, phone number, how many people will be participating and which film date(s) you plan participate.

All interested extras must RSVP to Heather Feezor by Monday, May 5, 2025.

Looking for Lincoln is partnering with the Abraham Lincoln Association and the Illinois Supreme Court Historic Preservation Commission. Filming is by Storyteller Studios. The film features historians Harold Holzer, Jonathan White, Guy Fraker, John Lupton and Marcia Young.

The documentary will answer questions like:

What is the 8th Judicial Circuit and what role did it play in Lincoln's life?

How did Lincoln's legal career assist him as a president?

What key people influenced Lincoln while he was travelling the 8th Judicial Circuit?

What was life like as a lawyer on the 8th Judicial Circuit?

We look forward to sharing the final film later this year.
